The actual header on mine is 2 1/8". The shrunk section for the muffler was wierd, some is 1.75, some is bigger. The muffler has an expansion joint in it to make up the difference, If you need to know in order to run an HD muffler or such, it will work, but you may need to add or remove some material at the mounting point.
